Echoes
Contemporary audiences primarily encounter human suffering through text and short-form social media, which, despite their reach, can lead to emotional distancing and compassion fatigue. Immersive virtual reality offers a way to restore emotional proximity through first-person, spatial experiences, yet comparative evidence against feed-based media remains limited. Understanding these differences is crucial for ethical communication and immersive design.
Using immersive virtual reality, this project lets participants step into the everyday experiences and emotions of civilians trapped in war zones, fostering empathy and awareness of lives disrupted by political conflict.
